NEW DELHI: The Centre may consider certain concessions for disabled employees including special leave for those who excel in arts, music and sports, Union Minister Jitendra Singh said here today.
Also, if there is a regular medical help being sought by an employee in a definite town or place of posting, there may be a liberal approach while considering such a transfer on request, he said.
During his meeting with representatives of ‘Samarthanam Trust for the Disabled’, the Minister said the Government had already relaxed a policy for transfer of Government employees who happen to be parents or caregivers of a disabled child.
“Similarly, he said, there could be a provision for special leave to be granted to employees who excel in sports, arts or music or some other cultural activity and wish to take off for participation in a related event,” a press release issued today by the Government said.
Singh, Minister of State for Personnel, said his department may also think of certain special provisions or privileges for disabled employees in Government services depending upon their special requirements. (AGENCIES)
