JAMMU, Apr 26: In line with the directions of the Jammu and Kashmir Legal Services Authority, a special Lok Adalat for consumer cases was held today at the District Consumer Disputes Redressal Commission, Jammu.
The Lok Adalat was organised under the chairmanship of YP Bourney, Principal District and Sessions Judge Jammu, who is also the Chairperson of the District Legal Services Authority (DLSA) Jammu. The event was held under the overall supervision of Smriti Sharma, Secretary, DLSA Jammu.
One bench was constituted for the hearing, comprising Pawan Dev Kotwal, President, District Consumer Disputes Redressal Commission Jammu, and Advocate Kavita Raina, Panel Lawyer of DLSA Jammu.
A total of five cases were taken up during the special Lok Adalat. Out of these, one case was successfully settled, with a settlement amount of Rs 4, 03, 844.
