POONCH, Sept 5: A Special Cell for women has been established in Police Station Poonch.
The Women Cell was formally inaugurated by SSP Poonch, Vinay Sharma in presence of other Police officers here today.
A police spokesman said that the aim to establish this cell in Poonch is to provide Psycho-social-legal support to women facing violence against them and to work as bridge among women and different services of Government.
It is pertinent to mention here that 10 Special Cells for women have already been established in Kashmir while about 10 in Jammu division. Now, this Cell at Poonch has been established to redress the issues of local women and children, the spokesman said.
