REASI, Jan 4: Apni Party vice president and former minister, Aijaz Ahmed Khan today demanded speed up of the development activities in Jij Bagli block.
Addressing a public meeting in Jij Bagli, Khan highlighted several developmental works which are progressing at a very slow pace in Jij.
He said that the area is badly affected due to the poor developmental works.
Khan said that although the CRF scheme is not existing anymore, the road from Jij to Narkot is still to be completed which was taken up under the CRF.
“The above said road should be completed within a stipulated time frame so that common masses do not suffer,” he said, and added that the work on another road from Jij to Ladkhumba and Narloo to Tulli Banna is incomplete and it should also be completed.
Meanwhile, former MLA, Mumtaz Ahmed Khan also raised issues of poor drinking and electricity supply system and demanded that these facilities should be provided to the poor population in the rural belt in Jij.
He demanded upgradation of the Govt High School Jij so that they do not have to travel far from their area.
“The students from Jij have to cover a long distance to pursue higher education,” he added.
He also demanded adequate deployment of doctors, paramedical staff and an ambulance at Primary Health Centre, Jij.
