Speed up developmental works in Jammu: DyCM

Srinagar,  Sept  15:  Deputy Chief Minister, Dr. Nirmal Singh today directed the officers to speed up the pace of work on various projects undertaken for development and beautification of Jammu city so that the people  living there get the requisite benefits from these and it comes up as a model city.
The Deputy Chief Minister was addressing the 75th Meeting of Board of Directors of Jammu Development Authority here today.
Chief Secretary, B.R. Sharma, Commissioner Secretary, Finance Naveen Choudhary, Commissioner Secretary Housing & Urban Development Department, Vipul Pathak, Divisional Commissioner Jammu,  Pawan Kotwal, Vice Chairman Jammu Development Authority, Mubarak Singh, Commissioner Jammu Municipal Corporation, Mandeep Kour and other senior officers attended the meeting.
While impressing upon the officers to work in close coordination and synerize their efforts in ensuring that the projects are completed in a time bound manner, the Deputy Chief Minister said that the same would also ensure that the bottlenecks if any, are removed and the works speeded up. He said that there should be a complete monitoring on these works so that the quality of these is maintained and the pace of completion is also monitored.
“Ever since the Government took over it has been our endeavour to ensure that the pace of developmental works is speeded up and also undertake several new projects which would ensure that it comes up as a model in the country. The necessary instructions have already been passed on to the concerned to ensure timely completion of various prestigious projects so that people get the requisite benefits from these”, he stressed.  He directed the Vice Chairman, JDA to hold meetings of the Board of Directors after every three months.
The Deputy Chief Minister also asked the Vice Chairman, Jammu Development Authority to speed up the work on the prestigious commercial project coming up at General Bus Stand Jammu so that it is completed within the stipulated time. He said that necessary arrangements should also be done for the shopkeepers whose properties are acquired while executing the project.
The meeting also discussed construction of Shelter for Urban Homeless (SUM) under National Urban Livelihood Mission (NULM), besides undertaking construction of night shelter at Delli, Jammu, construction of working women hostel at Paloura, Jammu besides taking up the construction of group housing at Sidra, Jammu.
