Speed up PDD daily wagers regularization process: Vikar

SRINAGAR, July 18: Minister for Technical Education and Power, Information, Vikar Rasool today directed the officers to initiate the necessary steps for the early regularization of daily rated workers (PDL)/(TDL) working in various wings of the Power Development Department, besides ensuring the release of wages to the need based ones.
The Minister was addressing officers during a high level committee to discuss the issues of regularization of daily rated workers working in Power Development Department, besides the releases of wages to the need based workers. It was attended by the Principal Secretary PDD, A.K. Mehta, Development Commissioner Power, Chief Engineers of Jammu, Kashmir and other senior officers.
Mr. Vikar asked the officers to ensure that the process of regularizations is speeded up so that the persons working for several years are regularized in a time bound manner. He said that the officers of different wings should work in coordinated and synergized manner to remove the lacunae if any so that the method of regularizing is speeded up.
The Minister also directed the officers to release the salary of the need based workers working in different wings of the department before Idd.
The Minister earlier convened a meeting to review the functioning of the Information Department. It was attended by the Director Information Zaffar Ahmed, Joint Director Information Kashmir, Shafqat Iqbal, Deputy Secretary Ram Sevak and other senior officers.
The Minister asked the officers to ensure that the publicity of the Government and the initiatives undertaken by it for the welfare of the people of the State is properly ensured on a regular and sustained basis.
The meeting also discussed the proposed press colonies being set up in Jammu and Kashmir and was informed that the necessary steps have already been taken in this regard for identification of land and other related things.
