SRINAGAR, July 1: Chairman Power Grid Corporation of India Limited, R. N. Nayak today called on Chief Minister, Omar Abdullah and presented him the resume of the status of various works being executed by the Grid Corporation in the State.
Director Projects, I. S. Jha, E. D. NR2, S. C. Singh, Chief Manager Srinagar, PGCIL, Shafat Ahmad and General Manager S. K. Sharma were present in the meeting.
Taking brief about various projects, the Chief Minister emphasized the need for speeding up the work on Srinagar-Leh Transmission Line to enable smooth supply of electricity and its distribution in Ladakh region and evacuation of power from various power stations constructed in the region.
Omar Abdullah also emphasized the need for targeted completion of the ITIs being established by the PGCIL at Ganderbal and Jammu.
The Chairman PGCIL assured the Chief Minister that the Corporation would take all steps aimed at completion of the projects within scheduled time frame.
