Speed up voter registration: Koul tells KDD

JAMMU, Oct 8: In a meeting of the Core Group of BJP Kashmir Displaced District (KDD), BJP J&K General Secretary (Org.) Ashok Koul asked them to speed up the process of registration of voters of the Displaced Community in their respective Assembly constituencies of Kashmir.
Voter registration, updation of electoral Rolls and Aadhar linking is going on in the JKUT last date for the same is 25th October, 2022.
Core members, who attend the meeting at BJP Office Trikuta Nagar include Prabhari G.L Raina, President Chandji Bhat, General Secretary HK Razdan, Sanjay Bhat, Election Incharge, Vimal Raina, H.L. Bhat, ML Bhat, Anil Dhar, Rajeev Pandita and Rakesh Sethi.
They brought to the notice of Ashok Koul, the difficulties being faced by party leaders on ground. Voter list available is only in Urdu and the time span for a scattered community is very less. They urged Koul to take up the issue of extension of last date with authorities at appropriate level.
KDD leaders stressed upon the need for the Election Commission to undertake an intensive awareness campaign before organizing camps in any area. They also highlighted the necessity to involve election commission mechanism for registration of Displaced voters presently living outside Jammu Kashmir.
Ashok Koul, while agreeing to take up their issue raised with concerned authorities; impressed upon Core Group Member to galvanize party workers at Booth and Mandal level and undertake an intensive door-to-door contact programme for awareness to register voters in Kashmir. He instructed leaders to prepare short video messages for awareness on the subject.
Ashok Koul urged upon society at large to realize the importance of participation in the Democratic  process.
Calling upon the Displaced Community not to miss the opportunity, he appealed for a constructive role in shaping the future of J&K and protecting ensuing generations from exploitation, insecurity and uncertainty.
Ashok Koul also reviewed the working of the organization and progress on different fronts.
