President on 3-day visit to Jammu

JAMMU, Sept 10: Spic Macay national president Radha Mohan Tiwari held a meeting here today to give boost to activities of the organization.
He requested Suresh Sharma, noted social worker of Jammu and former Registrar General of the High Court to take responsibility of Jammu and Kashmir for the Spic Macay.
During last three days, the national team of the Spic Macay was on a tour of Jammu region including Radha Mohan Tiwari, Ankit Babbar, Member National Council and Suresh Sharma. They met senior representatives and students of IIT, IIM, Cluster University and Jammu University and discussed various issues and topics with them threadbare.
Society for the Promotion of Indian Classical Music and Culture Among Youth (SPIC MACAY) is a non-political organization and was established 47 years ago by former IIT Delhi Professor Kiran Seth.
It has organized more than 5000 programmes of Shastriya dance, Lok Sangeet dance, Classical cinema, Rangmanch Kala and various other cultural activities.
Though the programmes of Spic Macay are being held in Jammu region regularly, a detailed roadmap has been finalized to further strengthen the Jammu chapter.
IIT Jammu Dean Professor Taj Hassan talked about 17 days series.
On the occasion, Spic Macay IIT Jammu organizer Prof Kour and other members were also present.
In the meeting with IIM Jammu Director Prof B Sahai, a decision was taken on a weeklong programme. In the programme at Cluster University, students participated in large numbers in different activities like music, Rangmanch, history and other topics.
It was decided to form a strong team with Suresh Sharma, Receiver of Jammu’s Ancient temple of Panjbakhtar.
A detailed discussion was held with Jammu University Vice Chancellor Prof Umesh Rai on regular programmes with members and students.
At a function in Press Club, Suresh Sharma briefed the media persons about the activities of Spic Macay.
Ankit Babbar briefed on the organization’s activities abroad.
