SpiceJet to operate 148 special flights for Hajj pilgrims

KOLKATA: SpiceJet today announced that it will operate 148 special flights for the annual Hajj pilgrimage.
The airline is all set to carry close to 11,000 Hajj pilgrims from Srinagar to Medina and Jeddah and back on special flights for the religious gathering in Mecca this year, according to a release issued here.
Chairman and Managing Director Ajay Singh said, “We offer our best wishes to all the pilgrims as they embark on this once in a lifetime journey and we will make every effort to provide a hassle-free and delightful travel experience for all our pilgrim passengers.”
The airline will deploy its Boeing 737-800 aircraft to ferry pilgrims from Srinagar, Jammu and Kashmir to Jeddah and Medina. The flights will be operated between July 4 and 29. The return journey is scheduled from August 16 to September 11.
