JAMMU, Jan 20: The Special DG, CRPF, J&K Zone, Sanjay Arora today inaugurated Quarter Guard building at Group Centre CRPF, Kootah in Hiranagar tehsil of district Kathua.
The Quarter Guard building was inaugurated by SDG, Arora in presence of large number of officers, jawans and civilians. PS Ranpise, IGP CRPF Jammu Sector, Vivek Bansal, Chief Engineer, CPWD Jammu, were also present, besides number of serving and retired senior officers of Central and State administration and Police.
Sukhjit Singh Rana, DIGP, GC CRPF Hiranagar elaborated on the importance of this building and ongoing construction works in the premises. Quarter Guard building has been constructed on an area of 1200 Sq Mt. Its construction was started in 2017 and completed last year despite COVID-19 pandemic.
This building has provisions for the latest resources and hi-tech equipments. Government of India has sanctioned this Group Centre during January 2013 and the construction work of first phase is under process. As the pandemic situation has improved, the speed of construction of various projects has also been accelerated and the constructions of remaining buildings of the first phase is expected to be completed by the year end and the institution will start functioning from this Camp at Kootah, Hiranagar.
Constructions of first phase of infrastructure at Group Centre CRPF, Hiranagar is under progress at Kootah village of Kathua district in Jammu Division. In this phase, some of the projects have been completed and remaining are under progress.
The large deployment of CRPF in J&K necessitated requirement of this Group Centre particularly in this sensitive area. The establishment of this Group Centre will not only add to the security apparatus of this area but contribute to the development of this area also.
