SPMR College organizes national seminar on “Entrepreneurship and Innovation”

JAMMU, Mar 31: Research and Development Cell and Institution Innovation Cell of Government SPMR College of Commerce under the aegis of G-20 organised one day national seminar on “Entrepreneurship and Innovation” for the students and faculty from different colleges of Jammu Division.
Principal, Dr Surinder Kumar, who was the chief guest on the occasion, highlighted the importance of entrepreneurship and innovation in higher educational institutions. He lauded the efforts of organising committee for taking such initiative and also urged the faculty to conduct more such events in the near future.
Dr Pooja, Coordinator RDC and Convener of the event formally welcomed the resource person Prof (Dr) Dipanker Sengupta and all the participants.
Dr Dipanker Sengupta, Professor of Economics, University of Jammu discussed various drivers of the economy—land, labour, capital and knowledge and highlighted the importance of research in creation of such knowledge and innovation. He stressed on the need of more venture capitalists in Jammu and Kashmir for its economic development and further highlighted the need for creation of more platforms where inventors and investors can collaborate.
More than 50 participants including faculty from different colleges of Jammu division participated in the seminar. The proceedings of the event were conducted by Dr Jagmeet Kaur and Prof Deepshikha Sharma, Organizing Secretary of the Programme accorded the formal vote of thanks.
The entire event were coordinated and managed by Dr Pooja, Coordinator RDC, Dr Parveen Singh, Coordinator IIC, Prof Deepshikha Sharma, Dr Fayza, Prof Charandeep Handa, Dr Deepak Pathania, Dr Sumeet Kour and Dr Rajneesh.
Other faculty members present on the occasion were Prof Barbara Kaul, HOD Commerce, Prof Savita Jamwal, Dr Monika Malhotra, Dr Sandhya Bharadwaj, Prof Ashu Manhas, Prof Reeta Menia, Prof Shreya Sharma, Malik Aijaz Iqbal, Dr Jaswinder Singh and Dr Gurcharan Singh.
The programme was technically assisted by Jai Mohan, Kewal, Arun Sharma and Kulveer Singh.
