JAMMU, Mar 28: Department of Commerce in the Govt SPMR College of Commerce Jammu, organised a seminar on the topic ‘Peace and Justice – Strong Institutions’ under the aegis of G20 for B Com/BBA/BCA students.
Dy SP Swati Sharma was the resource person for the event while the college Principal, Dr Surinder Kumar was the chief guest on the occasion. The whole event was planned and organised under the guidance of Prof Barbara Kaul, Head of Department of Commerce. Dy SP Swati Sharma highlighted the significance of peace and justice in the society. She explained in detail about the different types of peace like inner peace, regional peace, continental peace, social peace, etc.
She also presented her valuable views on judiciary system. The resource person had an interactive session with the students wherein she shared career related opportunities available in the Police Department.
Principal Dr Surinder Kumar appreciated the Department of Commerce for organizing the seminar and hoped that the deliberations would greatly help the students.
Earlier, Dr Rita Sharma presented welcome address. The students of Semester 3rd and 5th of the college attended the programme. Faculty who attended the programme, included Dr Monika Malhotra, Prof Savita Jamwal, Dr Sandhya, Dr Vaishali, Dr Ramandeep, Prof Charandeep Handa, Prof Rishu Mahajan, Prof Kusha and others.
The proceedings of the event were coordinated and managed by Prof Barbara Kaul, Dr Sarabjeet Kour, Dr Jagmeet and Prof Sindhu Kotwal. Dr Fayza presented the formal vote of thanks.
