SRINAGAR, Nov 2: Police arrested three alleged drug peddlers including a Special Police Officer (SPO) in Handwara sub-district.
Police said they were arrested by a team led by Station House Officer Kralgund at a checkpoint which was established at Ananwan Crossing Kralgund.
“During their personal search 105 grams of contraband Charas like substance was recovered from their possession. All the accused were arrested on spot,” police said.
They were identified by police as Irshad Ahmad Gazi, Sajad Ahmad Rather- both residents of Kralpora Kralgund and Syed Anwar Geelani an SPO presently posted at Kupwara and a resident of Tangwari.
Police said a case under relevant sections of law was registered in Police Station Kralgund and an investigation has been initiated.
