SPO among 3 killed, 1 hurt in separate road accidents

JAMMU, Nov 20: Three people including a Special Police Officer of Jammu & Kashmir Police were killed and one injured in three separate road accidents occurred today in city outskirts.
According to the reports, a rashly driven bus bearing registration number JK02AE-3679 hit a motorcycle (registration number JK02CN-7246) at Suketar on Jammu-Srinagar National Highway and grievously injured the rider and its pillion.
Both the injured persons were immediately rushed to Government Medical College and Hospital (GMCH), Jammu, where the bike rider namely Sher Hussain (48) son of Gulam Rasool, resident of Gujjar Nagar (Jammu) was declared as brought dead by the doctors. The body of the deceased was handed over to his family after getting conducted autopsy at GMCH Jammu.
The injured pillion namely Sher Baj (54) son of Gulam Rasool, resident of Gujjar Nagar (Jammu) was undergoing treatment in the Hospital, where doctors declared him as unfit for making any statement. Jhajjar Kotli Police had registered a case in this connection and started investigation.
Another accident occurred at Domail, where a speeding car hit a bike. In the mishap, the bike rider namely Manohar Lal son of late Kirpa Ram, resident of Suketar Domail, who was identified as an SPO of J&K Police, sustained injuries. The injured SPO was immediately rushed to SMVD Narayana Hospital Katra, from where he was later referred to GMCH Jammu but he died on the way. The concerned Police had taken cognizance of the matter.
In Sidhra area of city outskirts, a gas tanker bearing registration number PB78A-6886 hit a scooty (registration number JK02CW-8303) and seriously injured its rider namely Vinay Pandita (31) son of Hari Krishan Pandita, resident of Flat Number 23, Block Number 131, Mini Township Jagti (Jammu). The injured man was rushed to GMCH Jammu but he succumbed on the way to the Hospital.
Nagrota police had registered a case in this connection and started investigation while both the vehicles involved in the mishap were seized and driver of the gas tanker namely Kuldeep Singh son of Bahadur Singh, resident of Shadipur (Pathankot) was arrested.
