KISHTWAR, June 5: A Special Police Officer (SPO) while on patrolling duty accidentally fell into river Chenab and got drowned at Gulab Garh area of Padder here today.
As per police sources, a SPO identified as Krishna Lal, son of Deewan Chand, a resident of Pandail (Padder) fell into river Chenab while on patrolling duty.
After getting information, police team rushed to the spot and started rescue operation.
However, it was assumed that the SPO has drowned as his body could not fish out from the river till last reports were compiled.
Atholi police has taken cognizance in this regards.
