DODA, July 4: A Special Police Officer (SPO) of Jammu and Kashmir Police (JKP) was killed and one another got injured, when the bike they were riding on collided head-on with a Tata Sumo of Animal Husbandry Department near Prem Nagar area in tehsil Thathri.
As per police sources, SPO of JKP namely Ravi Kumar, son of Hans Raj of Shote, Pernote got killed, whileas Surinder Kumar, son of Naseeb Singh of Shote, Pernote got seriously injured when the motorcycle (JK06-5952) they were riding on collided head on with Tata Sumo (JKO2BF-7152) of Animal Husbandry Department at Prem Nagar area in tehsil Thathri.
After getting information, police rushed to the spot and shifted the body of the deceased to Thathri hospital, where after conducting autopsy, it was handed over to legal heirs for last rites.
The injured was rushed to District Hospital Doda, where he was undergoing treatment, when reports last came in.
The driver of the Tata Sumo identified as Chuni Lal, son of Hem Raj of Palmar has been arrested.
A case under relevant Sections has been registered at Thathri police station and investigation started.
