DODA, June 24: A Special Police Officer (SPO) of Jammu and Kashmir Police was killed, while a forest guard was injured when the Swift car they were travelling in skidded off the road and plunged into gorge near Monnie area of tehsil Chilly Pingal here today.
The ill-fated vehicle bearing registration number JK02CM-0885 was on its way to Gandoh from Malikpura area of Bhatyas, when the driver lost control over the wheels and the car plunged into gorge near Monnie, resulting into on the spot death of SPO of Jammu and Kashmir Police and injuries to one other.
On getting information, police team rushed to the spot and started rescue operation with the help of locals. The injured was rushed to Sub District Hospital Gandoh, where he was responding to the treatment, when last reports came in.
The deceased was identified as SPO Ashok Kumar posted at SPP Malikpura, while the injured was identified as Forest Guard Mohammed Ashraf, son of Mohammed Shafi Zargar.
A case under relevant Sections has been registered at Police Station Gandoh and investigation started.
