SRINAGAR, June 27: Militants shot dead a Special Police Officer (SPO) and his wife besides injuring the couple’s daughter in Pulwama district, late this evening.
Reports said that 2-3 armed militants barged into the house of SPO Fayaz Ahmad at Hariparigam Tral in the Awantipora area of Pulwama around 11 pm and fired indiscriminately on all the family members.
The SPO, his wife and daughter received bullet injuries. They were rushed to a hospital, where the SPO and his wife Raja Begum succumbed to injuries while condition of their daughter Rafia is stated to be critical.
More details are awaited while a major hunt has been launched to track the militants.
