SPOC holds conference on cancer prevention

JAMMU, June 23: Society for Prevention of Cancer (SPOC) Bengaluru held a conference on importance of balancing and interconnecting whole body in fight against Cancer, here today.
Renowned medical experts in the field addressed the Conference to help people understand the different ways to deal with the Disease. SPOC trust is brain child of Dr Nanda Rajaneesh, renowned Onco Surgeon of the Country and it had many leading Onco Surgeons and Oncologists on the Board.
The conference was started with introduction of the Society and by Trustee Director Sunil Sethi. The Conference was addressed by Dr Monika Pansari (Surgical Oncologist), who spoke extensively on prevention of cancer in women particularly breast and gynecological cancer. She discussed risk factors and treatments in cancer in women and focused on the treatment protocol. She explained in details the symptoms at early stage to detect the problem at very initial stage.
Dr Vishwanath S, leading Medical Oncologist with Apollo Hospital Bengaluru spoke about prevention of lymphoma and multiple myeloma. He spoke about modifiable and non modifiable risk factors and answered questions from audience clarifying many of their doubts.
Another leading Medical Oncologist Dr Rajeev Vijay Kumar (Apollo Hospital, Bengaluru) talked about prevention of cancer and role of different agencies. He stressed about early detection and support system from Government and different agencies as also NGOs. He also educated the audience about the role of SPOC in prevention and treatment of cancer by use of innovative digital technology for Coloscopy and other screenings.
Richika (holistic health coach and neurologist) laid stress on Yogic way of treating cancer. She discussed the concept of healing of the body through Yoga. She laid stress on adopting Yogic diet to tune our body to natural ways.
The proceedings of the conference were conducted by Dr Jyotsana and Dr Laichka Sethi.
