2Born on February 20, 1970, Shotu Lal Sharma is a sabre coach or a fencing instructor in J&K State Sports Council. He belongs to Village Barota, Billawar in Kathua. Mr lal got his training from Physical College Amravati and served as Physical Education Teacher at Dewan Badrinath School for ten years before joining J&K State Sports Council. He has the distinction of producing players who have brought laurels to the State as also to the Country in 2002 Asian Games Fencing Championship at Delhi, 2003 Senior Asian Fencing Championship at Bangkok, 2004 Singapore Open Fencing Championship at Quba, 2005 Senior World Fencing Championship at Germany, 2006 Junior Cadet Asian Fencing Championship at Germany, 2007 Asian Fencing Championship at Bangkok and 2010 Asian Games Fencing Championship at Bhopal. Shotu Lal has produced International stuff from Jammu and Kashmir and has the honour of producing the ace fencers like Rashid Choudhary, Ujjawal Gupta, Vishal Thappar and likes, who have time and again, kept the State’s flag high in National and International events. It was his sheer-dint of hard work and dedication that the fencers from Jammu and Kashmir excelled in the 35th National Games held at Kerala in 2015. He accompanied the State fencers Vansh Mahajan and Teja Singh to Junior Cadet Commonwealth Championship held at Cape Town in South Africa.
