SPO’s name recommended to DGP

SAMBA, Aug 10: The district police chief Samba, Israr Khan has recommended the name of brave SPO and an ace swimmer Raj Singh of village Jad to the Director General of Police for induction into regular Police service.
Impressed by the daring deeds of this SPO, who have saved several lives so far on 2-3 occasions, the SSP recommended his name for regular police personnel in the department. On August 4, this SPO managed to save three trapped men in flooded river Basantar. These trapped men had mounted on trapped tipper in the river. There were so many cops and civilians watching the hapless trapped men.
This brave cop volunteered himself and assisted by a civilian managed to reach up to the tipper and rescued all the three one by one. Being good diver, this SPO on several occasions was involved in search operation in Mansar lake. In May 2010, he had managed to fish out bodies of two persons from Mansar lake. They hailed from Udhampur district. During search operation of Dr Sayed Zuhaib Rizvi’s body in Mansar lake in May 2010, Raj Singh (450D/S), played vital role along with army and Navy divers. In view of his extra ordinary courage and heroic deeds, the district police has recommended his name for induction in regular police service.
