Spot demand pushes up cardamom futures

NEW DELHI, June 9:  Cardamom prices today rose Rs 8.60, or 1.07 per cent, to Rs 808.80 per kg in futures market after speculators enlarged their exposure, driven by rising demand in the market.
Cardamom for delivery in July contracts rose by Rs 8.60, or 1.07 per cent, to Rs 808.80 per kg in a business turnover of 201 lots in futures trading at Multi Commodity Exchange.
Similarly, spice for delivery in August was up Rs 6.50, or 0.82 per cent, to trade at Rs 793 per kg in 10 lots.
Analysts said tight supplies from producing regions mainly pushed up cardamom prices in futures trade. (PTI)
