CHENNAI, May 28: Real estate developer SPR Group has
signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the Chennai Apparel
Association here to set up 100 shops at the proposed “Market
of India.”
SPR Group planned to set up an integrated township in
Tamil Nadu SPR City, which would have the first-of-its-kind
organised wholesale trade centre ‘Market of India”.
SPR Group Managing Director Hitesh Kawad exchanged
documents with Chennai Apparel Association President Bharat
Sarda at a function here, a press release said.
SPR Group had made similar arrangments with bathroom and
lighting fitments maker Jaquar Group for an experience centre
at the Market of India.
“The MoU between the largest apparel association in Tamil
Nadu and Market of India marks a major milestone in fulfilling
the vision of making India one among the top trade desinations
in the world.” Kawad said in a company statement.
On the setting up of 100 textile shops, CAA President
Bharat Sarda said “we will ensure that all types of and all
strata of garment manufacturers and retailers will be
presented under one roof and thus will boost business growth
in the sector”.
Chennai Apparel Association tie up with Market of India
was expected to provide a global opportunity for all its
member organisations to expand their business, it added. (PTI)
