SR College conducts workshop for IAS, KAS aspirants

JAMMU, Feb 14: SR College organised workshop for aspirants who are preparing for the forthcoming 2021 Civil Services examinations to be conducted by the UPSC and JK PSC here today in the college premises.
The expert faculty from Delhi dealt with the issues like nature of the exam, structure, stages and the strategy to prepare for the preliminary test, mains exam and finally for the personality test.
Gautam Kumar, an expert faculty in ethics, aptitude and integrity, international relations, internal security, Governance and social justice elaborated a comprehensive strategy to prepare for all the four papers of General Studies in mains and also delved on preparing for the exams in a time bound manner. He also guided the students about Civil Services Aptitude Test, Essay Paper and the Public Administration Optional.
Gautam laid stress on components of general studies to be taken up first, focus areas common to prelims and Mains, time management, answer writing and the importance of test series.
He also cautioned the students about the effect of negative marking in the prelims and provided a well calculated approach on number of questions to be attempted.
“During lockdown period also, the college conducted online workshops for the benefit of students preparing for these prestigious exams. Now the College has been conducting offline workshops every Sunday by inviting experts from across the country for general studies and various optionals and this workshop was tenth in the series. In a three to four hour long marathon session, the aspirants raised various queries especially the sources of material required and making of notes to crack the coveted exam,” informed Shikha Sharma, Office Coordinator.
