SR College organizes Test Series, Workshops

JAMMU, Feb 28: SR College here today organized Workshops for the aspirants preparing for 2021 Civil Services examinations to be conducted by the UPSC and JK PSC.
One of the resource persons from Delhi dealt with all the three stages of the exam and the issues like nature of the exam, structure, stages and the strategy to prepare for the preliminary test, mains exam and finally for the personality test.
Gautam Kumar, expert faculty in ethics, aptitude and integrity, international relations, internal security, governance and social justice elaborated a comprehensive strategy to prepare for all the four papers of General Studies in mains and also delved on preparing for the exams in a time bound manner.
He guided the students about civil services aptitude test, essay paper, answer writing and public administration optional.
Rahul, Vishal Singh and Mahesh were other experts who guided the aspirants comprehensively about Zoology, Geography and History optionals.
Gautam laid stress on components of general studies to be taken up first, focus areas common to prelims and mains, time management, answer writing and the importance of test series.
He cautioned the students about the effect of negative marking in prelims and provided a well calculated approach on number of questions to be attempted.
A handout stated that the college has also started a test series for prelims 2021 containing 12 sectional and 8 full mock tests each of GS & CSAT and a comprehensive test series for mains which includes 18 tests for General Studies and 6 tests for each optional. The students are also being provided with answers and explanations of both preliminary and mains question papers.
“The college is conducting workshops every Sunday by inviting experts from across the country for General Studies and various optionals and this workshop was twelfth in the series where the aspirants raised various queries,” informed Neha Sharma, Office Coordinator.
