SRH confident despite losing Nehra due to injury against KKR

BENGALURU:   Holders Sunrisers Hyderabad Coach Tom Moody is silently confident of throwing out Kolkata Knight Riders from the 10th edition of IPL when the two teams clash in the eliminator round here tomorrow.

But the title defenders are against some fiere fighters from the Shah Rukh Khan’s side with India discard and skipper Gautam Gambhir determined to relish the Bengaluru surface while Robin Uthappa and home Manish Pandey, retained in the Indian side for the Champion’s trophy eager to assert themselves after a good IPL campaign this  year.

But KKR has found a marauding but unfound opener in Sunil Narine who has smashed his way thorough and the more somber but genuine Kane Williomson, the Kiwi skipper who has proved to be the ‘all weather’ batsman.

Sunrisers has enough players who are really hot, in the likes of top run scorer and captain David Warner and top wicket taker Bhubaneshwar Kumar.

Moody has other problems as Yuvraj Singh is also doubtful for tomorrow’s tie, but the side had enough back up power to come out on the winning side while Mohammed Nabi also faced fitness issues.

The Australian while speaking to reporters here on the eve of the match, confirmed absence of Nehra ruled out for the reminder of the IPL this year.

”Ashish is not fit, and said Yuvraj will take a fitness test later today and the team management was giving him every chance to prove his fitness.”

Nehra had pulled out due to a hamstring trouble against Rising Pune Supergiant on May 6 and missed the remaining league ties.

Yuvraj missed SRH’s last league match against Gujarat with a sore finger in the match against Mumbai.

Moody said the last match in this town, a washout against RCB that finished last in the table, was dissapointing and proved costly for the team. Otherwise it could have finished much higher in the  table.

”Tomorrow we will have a different surface tomorrow. This Bengaluru surface if a team scores over 160 it can defend it, whoever bat first. So you need to adapt the way you play and conditions matter.

The Sunrisers coach said his players had measured KKR well played twice during the league. The first six overs will be crucial, he  said.
