JAMMU, Jan 19: Indian Council for Cultural Relations (ICCR), Ministry of External Affairs, Government of India, is bringing a group from Sri Lanka to Jammu for its performance on January 21 at Abhinav Theatre, Jammu in collaboration with J&K Academy of Art Culture and languages.
Regional Director of ICCR Jammu Balwant Thakur informed that this will be the 7th International group to perform in Jammu after the inception of ICCR in Jammu.
He stated that ‘Dances of Sri Lanka’ will be presented with the support of J&K Academy of Art Culture and languages. He said that Arpeggio Creative Dance Academy of Sri Lanka is coming all way from Sri lanka to present the dances of Sri lanka.
Thakur maintained that for Jammuites this is going to be the rarest opportunity to witness the culture of Sri lanka and in particular the local artists will get to learn about the ethnic performing styles of Sri Lanka.
The entry to the show has been kept free and the sitting will also be available of first come first basis.
