Srinagar boy secures National Sports Champion Award

SRINAGAR, May 21: A 19-year old athlete from Srinagar has been awarded the prestigious National Sports Champion Award (NSCA)-2021 by the National Sports and Physical Fitness Board in Martial Arts.
Shahid Yousuf, originally hailing from the Soura area of Srinagar, and currently residing in Sumbal Sonawari, Bandipora, started his academic career at Javaidan Public School Soura.
He qualified his 10th from R.P. School Waskura Ganderbal and then joined Govt Boys Model Higher Secondary School Sumbal Sonawari from where he qualified 10+2
Shahid is currently doing English Honors from Cluster University Srinagar, Govt College for Women’s MA Road Srinagar.
His achievements include being an International Medallist- 2018, A+ State Referee TMDAJK & B Grade Coach- RSFI, 2 times Black Belt SRKDI and HKFI, 3 times National Player (1 Gold, 1 Silver & 1 Bronze Medal), 8 times State Player (5 Gold, 1 Silver & 1 Bronze Medal), 10 times District Player (6 Gold, 3 Silver & 1 Bronze Medal)
Also, during the Lockdown period, he received a Certificate of Honours for Fair Play from NSPFB, Gender Equality from IWOA, Corona Warrior by Charo’n Disha and Social Volunteer by World Sports TSD Federation. Moreover, he also received 8 different certificates during HSS and 9 during UG.
