SRINAGAR : The 300-km-long Srinagar-Jammu national highway, the only road connecting the Kashmir valley with the rest of the country, was closed yet again due to fresh snowfall since early this morning.
Hundreds of vehicles, including those carrying passengers, which left Jammu this morning for Srinagar have been stopped at different places, including Udhampur.
Since only one-way traffic is plying on the highway for the past about two months, today traffic was to ply from Jammu to Srinagar.
Official sources said it was snowing heavily on both sides of the Jawahar tunnel, Shaitan Nallah and Banihal since early this morning.
The road has become slippery forcing authorities to suspend traffic today. (AGENCIES)
