Srinagar police solves theft case, 2 held

SRINAGAR, May 31: Srinagar Police today said to have solved a theft case reported at Police Station Nowhatta and arrested two accused.
According to the police statement on May 9, Police Station Nowhatta received a written complaint from Tanvir Ahmad Hafiz resident of Roshangar Mohalla Nowhatta stating that thieves have stolen his vehicle Maruti-800 bearing registration No. JK01F-6080.
“On receipt of this information, a case FIR No. 21/2020 under relevant sections of law was registered in PS Nowhatta and investigation was initiated,” the statement said.
During the course of investigation, officers from Police Station Nowhatta arrested two accused persons identified as Arsalaan Mushtaq Wandroo resident of Puji Mohalla Rainawari and Mohd Asif Wani resident of Tengpora Gandarbal involved in the commission of crime. “Officers were also able to recover the stolen Maruti car on their disclosure,” police said.
During further course of investigation, officers were also able to recover stolen property including a Maruti car bearing registration No. JK01F-1501 of case FIR No.27/2020 registered at P/S Rainawari, Water Pump Motor, 12 mobile phones of different qualities, 40 boxes Four Square cigarettes, 09 boxes Gold Flake cigarettes, 18 boxes Cavander cigarettes & 08 kilograms Copper wire on their disclosure.
They have been shifted to Police Station Nowhatta where they remain in custody. The investigation of the case is in progress.
