SRTC pensioners demand release of arrears

JAMMU, June 10: The Jammu and Kashmir State Road Transport Corporation Pensioners Association  today  urged upon the Dy Chief Minister, Kavinder Gupta to release the 6th Pay Commission and other arrears of the SRTC pensioners.
A delegation of Association led by Ajit Singh Adyal, president of the body, met the DyCM ( Minister Incharge Transport)  here today and submitted a memorandum regarding demands of erstwhile GTU pensioners. They demanded payment of outstanding arrears of  6th Pay Commission with effect from January 2006 and  6%  interest of COLA arrears as per High Court order; payment of HRA/CCA outstanding arrears with effect from January 1991 to August 1993; grant of time bound promotion as per SRO-14 of 1996 in favour of erstwhile GTU drivers, conductors/ cleaners who were ignored in the past and removal of anomalies existing in some pay scales.
The DyCM gave patient hearing and  assured to  solve their issues on priority basis. Association members, BD Sharma, Suram Singh Chib, Isher Dass, K L Sharma, MK Koul, Om Parkash and Vaishno  Dass, Hira Lal,  Darshan Sharma, Gh Mohd, Tara Chand and others  also accompanied.
