SRTC volunteer retired staff demands release of COLA

JAMMU, Sept 12: All J&K SRTC Volunteer Retired Employees Association has strongly criticized the State Government for not releasing the amount of Rs 301610673 as Cost of Living Allowance (COLA) in favour of SRTC retired employees under the VRS.
A meeting of the Association was held under the chairmanship of  VREA president Dev Raj Bali who appealed the Commissioner Secretary Finance and State Finance Minister to release the amount in favour of VRS employees of SRTC at the earliest as they have already suffered on this account for the last four years.
The Association threatened to stage dharnas and demonstrations against the Government if the said amount is not released before September 30.
Those who attended the meeting, included Balwinder Singh, Surjit Singh, B B Sharma, D N Sharma, Sain Mohd, Gulshan Singh and others.
