SSA,RAMSA teachers without salary: JKTF

JAMMU, Dec 5: The Jammu and Kashmir Teachers Forum (JKTF) has alleged that teachers and headmasters working under SSA/RAMSA in the State are without salary for the last about six months.
In a meeting of the Forum held here today under the chairmanship of  Abdul Qayoom Wani, the members expressed strong resentment against the attitude of State and the Central Government for not releasing required funds for the purpose. They alleged that Omar Government has not released the state share of Rs 1.32 crore while HRD Ministry has released just Rs 326.28 crore out of the approved Rs 1201 crore.  The teaching community is facing lot of hardships due to non release of its wages.
It was resolved in the meeting to hold strong protest at Press Club on December 17 at Jammu and protest dharna at Jantar -Mantar  in New Delhi on December 27 if the Government failed to release the salaries of the teachers/ masters and headmasters.
Prominent among those who attended the meeting included Ganesh Khajuria, Mohd Afzal Bhat, Rajinder Gupta, Gopal Singh, M I Beig, Kuldeep Singh and Darshan Sharma.
