KATHUA, Oct 14: A jawan of SSB was killed and two other cops were seriously injured in a road accident that took place at Dhaloti Morh, in Rajbagh area in Kathua district on Jammu-Pathankot National Highway, today.
The accident took place when a Police Gypsy bearing registration number JK02 AQ 0374 escorting the ADG Police Abdul Gani Mir which was on way from Jammu to Kathua collided with Punjab Roadways bus bearing Registration number PB 07VQ 0826 while overtaking the vehicle. The gypsy was damaged and three Jawans of SSB got injured .
They were immediately shifted to Associated Medical College Kathua. One of them was declared as brought dead by doctors and two others were hospitalized in a serious condition. The Deceased SSB Cop was identified as , G/D Deen Dayal Bhoriya, 30,of 7th BN SSB Jammu. He was the resident of village Saroli, district Rajnand, Chatisgarh. The injured are identified as, Tarsem Singh, 52, resident of Bishnah , Jammu and Anuj Kumar 25,resident of Uttar Pradesh. They were later shifted to GMC Jammu for specialized treatment.
The Rajbagh police has registered a case and started investigation into the matter.
The police has arrested the driver of the bus and also seized the vehicle.
