SRINAGAR Oct 15 Director General of Seema Surakhsha Bal (SSB), Archana Ramasundaram today said that SSB is highly trained in anti-militancy operations and that is why they reacted quickly last evening to avoid casualties of the force.
Archana while paying tributes to the SSB jawan, Ghanshyam, killed in a militant attack at Zakoora area of Srinagar said that the force is always alert to foil any attack. She said that the militants last evening ambushed their troops who were returning from law and order duty but they were alert and fired back to avoid casualties of the force.
She said that the force won’t be cowed down by such attacks and in fact they are getting emboldened.
The DG said that majority of the SSB men injured in attack are out of danger and one is critical and he is being given necessary treatment. She said that some of them would be flown to Delhi for specialized treatment.
Archana reached Tatoo Ground in Srinagar this afternoon to pay tributes to the soldier before his body was sent to Rajasthan for last rites.
