JAMMU, May 17: Shri Sanatan Dharam Sabha (SSDS) urged the authorities to provide free ration to the affected families of earthquake without delay.
In a statement issued, the different teams of SSDS visited various earthquake affected areas and took stock of the damages caused to the temples and dharamshallas due to earthquake.
In Kishtwar, the position of Shri Raghu Nath ji temple was found very dilapidated as all the walls of the temple were damaged, while as at Sarthal, Mata Ashtha Dash Bhuja was totally damaged and other dharmashallas in the area also had developed major cracks and were declared unsafe for the yatris.
Sartik Swami ji temple situated at Nagni Kishtwar, Lakshmi Narayan Mandir situated at Brahmin Mohall and Hangpath Mandir at Kishtwar were worst hit due to these high magnitude earthquakes.
SSDS has expressed concern that the Government machinery to deal with the impact of the earthquake did not turn up to visit these shrines and to take stock of the damage caused due to earthquake. Besides, no attention has been paid to the minority community areas including Dachan, Palmar, Nagseni, Thakaries Paddar, Kuntwara and Sarthal by the authorities, the statement said.
The Sabha will take strong steps if any complaint regarding unfair distribution of tents and relief will be reported by the people of the earthquake hit areas.
