JAMMU, Nov 24: Sanjeevani Sharda Kendra (SSK) organized a solemn and inspiring function to honour the unparalleled sacrifice of Guru Tegh Bahadur, the ninth Sikh Guru, who laid down his life for the protection of religious freedom and humanity. The event, held at Sharda Bhawan of SSK, brought together people from diverse backgrounds to remember and reflect upon the values of courage, selflessness, and justice that Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji stood for.
The event was graced by Harminder Singh, Deputy Director Prosecution, as chief guest. In his address, he highlighted Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji’s ultimate act of martyrdom and its timeless significance in promoting peace and religious harmony. The chief guest emphasized the need to imbibe the Guru’s teachings in our daily lives to foster unity in society. The chief guest, while talking about a series of sacrifices, said that our country did not get independence just like that; the foundation of India was laid on these very sacrifices.
The programme was presided over by Dr M K Bharat, the Chairman of Sanjeevani Sharda Kendra. In his presidential speech, the Chairman underscored the pivotal role of such commemorative events in educating the younger generation about the rich spiritual and cultural heritage of India. He urged everyone to draw inspiration from the Guru’s life and strive towards building a society based on mutual respect and understanding.
The event featured a series of engaging activities, symposium including devotional songs, a keynote lecture on Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji’s legacy, and participation of school going students showcasing his contributions to humanity. In symposium 11 students participated. Prof Sandeep Pandita and B L Naru also participated in programme.
A moment of silence was observed to pay homage to the Guru and other martyrs who have laid down their lives for noble causes. The function was conducted by Radhey Shyam and vote of thanks was proposed by Ramji. Sanjeevani Sharda Kendra remains committed to fostering cultural and spiritual awareness through its various initiatives. This function marked yet another milestone in its mission to preserve and propagate the values that form the foundation of our nation’s identity.
