JAMMU, Oct 16: Senior Superintendent of Police, Poonch, Rohit Baskotra chaired a crime review meeting in the conference hall, DPO, at Poonch last evening.
During the meeting, cases registered under UAPA, NDPS, heinous crimes, crime against women were discussed thread bare and stress was laid to make rigorous efforts in finalization of investigation in such cases on merits within stipulated time. It was also enjoined upon all investigating officers of special reported cases and heinous cases to follow all laid down procedures while investigating such cases.
The participants were also asked to gear up the investigation in all pending cases for their finalization to ensure maximum disposal percentage by the year end. The SSP also stressed upon to keep a strict vigil over released/surrendered militants, OGWs and history-sheeters and preventive actions against all trouble mongers to be taken.
The territorial/supervisory officers were also directed by the SSP to enhance the security apparatus around vital installations, minority pockets and religious places and carry out area domination exercises on a regular basis besides regular contact with citizens by means of Thana Diwas, PCPG meetings.
In the run for ‘Nasha Mukt Bharat’, all efforts should be put to identify all drug peddlers, suppliers, consumers and action against suppliers and peddlers as per law to be initiated besides counselling and rehabilitation of persons who have fallen into it.
Measures for regulation of smooth flow of traffic on Mughal Road was also discussed in details so that least inconvenience is caused to citizens. Measures required to stop over-loading in public transport vehicles were also discussed and all field officers were directed to brief and alert PSV drivers on proper security to their vehicles and not to keep their vehicles unattended.
The meeting was attended by Mushim Ahmad-ASP Poonch, Manish Kumar-DySP Ops. Poonch, Nawaz Ahmed- DySP Hqrs Poonch, Tanveer Ahmed-DySP PC Surankote, Sheezan Bhatt- SDPO Mendhar, Ankush Sharma Sr PO (ADO) DPO Poonch, all SHOs, Incharge Police components and other officers of the district.
