SSP delivers lecture on ‘Social & Moral Policing’

JAMMU, Feb 8: SSP Jammu, Tejinder Singh today delivered an extension lecture on ‘Social and Moral Policing’ at Government SPMR College of Commerce and interacted with the students.
The SSP put impetus on the role of police as well as the citizen in maintaining peace. He highlighted the problems faced by the Police Department in general and policeman in particular in discharging their duties.
Singh also emphasised that the society is affected by so many menaces of drug peddling, theft, criminal activities and police is handicap without the contribution and cooperation of the citizens.
“If citizens find anything wrong happening in the society, they should immediately inform the police,” he said adding that people should know about their rights and duties to make the environment crime free.
The SSP highlighted the role of police in keeping people safe and elaborated on how policemen sacrifice their enjoyments for the safety and security of the society.
The lecture was followed by interaction wherein students enquired about the functioning of the police. All the grievances of the students were addressed by the SSP.
The lecture was attended by Amritpal Singh, SP North, Dr. Sania Wani, SDPO South, Seema Nabi, SDPO West, Sohan Singh I/C PP Canal Road besides other police officials.
Prof Kiran Raina I/C Principal and faculty members were also present on the occasion.
The proceedings of the function were conducted by Dr. Monika Malhotra.
