SSP Doda visits Bhaderwah; holds crime review meeting, interacts with VDGs

DODA, Nov 24: Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Doda, Sandeep Kumar Mehta, conducted a visit to Bhaderwah and held a comprehensive crime review meeting. The meeting was attended by the supervisory officer, Station House Officer (SHO), Incharge Police Posts (IC PPs), and all Investigating Officers (IOs) of Police Station Bhaderwah.
During the session, SSP Doda reviewed all ongoing investigations, including cases from the current year and backlog cases. Necessary instructions were issued to expedite investigations and ensure quality and timely resolution, especially in the last quarter of the year.
SSP Doda emphasized the importance of identifying habitual offenders in NDPS cases and directed the officers to explore forward and backward linkages to bring cases to their logical conclusion. He instructed proceedings for the detention of habitual offenders under the Public Safety Act and advocated for property attachment processes where applicable. In cases registered under the UAPA, the officers were advised to collect substantial circumstantial and electronic evidence to ensure judicial determination.
The officers were also directed to maintain strict surveillance on suspects, drug addicts, Overground Workers (OGWs), and potential troublemakers. Following the crime review meeting, SSP Doda interacted with prominent residents and community leaders of the area. They highlighted several demands and issues, to which SSP Doda assured prompt action and resolution at the appropriate level. SSP Doda urged the public to uphold communal harmony and cooperate with the police by reporting any criminal activities noticed in their vicinity.
An interaction session was also held with Village Defence Guards (VDGs). The VDG members raised several demands, which SSP Doda assured would be addressed. He advised them to remain alert in their areas of responsibility, conduct regular day and night patrolling, and report any suspicious movements to the nearest police, CAPF, or Army posts. Additionally, they were directed to conduct long-range and short-range patrols in coordination with security forces to ensure vigilance in their regions.
