JAMMU, July 27: Sainik Samaj Party (SSP) today criticized the District administration for opening Open Gyms in the public parks amidst COVID-19 scare.
President SSP, Col SS Pathania expressed his concern for constantly increasing cases of COVID-19 and urged the Govt to constitute stringent measures based on pragmatic SOPs and protocols to contain spread of COVID-19 pandemic.
“On one hand, Prime Minister of India is requesting people of the country to maintain social distancing and others SOPs to contain spread of corona-virus while on the other hand, the District administration is inaugurating Open Gyms in the public parks,” said Col Pathania.
He further said that instead of opening Gyms, the administration should take stringent measures to combat COVID threat. He asked the administration to come up to the expectations of the people living in the Jammu region and solve their problems. “The lanes and drains are in dilapidated condition and no step has been taken to improve the condition of the same,” he alleged.
He requested the Lieutenant Governor to take stock of the alarming ground realities and put stringent measures in place to ban all activities, where people gather in large numbers and spread the infection.
