SAMBA, Apr 26: Continuing with opening of Women Helpdesk at Police Station level, today Rajesh Sharma, SSP Samba accompanied by Ajaz Ahmed Zargar, Additional. SP Samba inaugurated Women Helpdesk at Police Stations Ramgarh and Bari Brahmana to help the women and girls in distress, facing harassment or any kind of abuse The objective of establishing Women Helpdesk is to make Police Station (PS) more Women friendly and approachable. It would be the first and the single point of contact for any woman walking into a Police Station. The Women helpdesk setup in the Police Station has sufficient strength of lady Police personnel to deal with the issues reported by women and girls. The Women Helpdesk at PS Ramgarh is headed by ASI Asmat Ara whereas PSI Deepika Jalotra is the incharge of Women Helpdesk at PS Bari Brahmana.
Later SSP interacted with the in charge and other police officials of Women Helpdesk and urged upon them for timely action of all the reported matters and ensure justice be delivered to the aggrieved. On the occasion Lov Karan Taneja, SDPO Vijaypur, Nihar Ranjan, SDPO Bari Brahmana, Inspector, Inderpal Singh, SHO, Ramgarh and Inspector, Arjun Chib, SHO Bari Brahmana were also present.
Earlier, Women Helpdesks were inaugurated by SSP Samba at PS Ghagwal and PS Vijaypur to provide a prompt and reliable response mechanism to all the reported issues of domestic violence and other offences against women.
