JAMMU, Oct 15: Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Jammu, Joginder Singh, chaired a comprehensive crime review meeting at the SDPO Office Bakshi Nagar, Jammu, focusing on the Sub-Division City West.
The meeting, attended by senior officers including SP Rural Jammu with additional charge of SP City North, SDPO City West Jammu, SHOs, and other key officials, discussed the status of various high-priority cases.
Key issues under review included ongoing investigations related to the NDPS Act, Excise violations, bovine smuggling, and crimes against women and children.
SSP Jammu emphasized the need for timely and merit-based closures of these cases, highlighting the importance of adopting modern investigative techniques to improve case disposal.
He urged officers to enhance the quality of investigations and ensure swift justice for victims.
The meeting also addressed strategies for community policing and public safety. SSP Jammu stressed the need to strengthen beat patrolling, maintain up-to-date records on bad characters, and enhance surveillance in vulnerable areas.
He directed SHOs to ensure regular monitoring of high-risk individuals and emphasized the significance of intelligence gathering to thwart anti-national elements.
In addition, the SSP focused on combating drug abuse, proposing a multi-faceted approach that includes prevention, rehabilitation, and rigorous enforcement.
Officers were instructed to bolster checkpoints and conduct area domination exercises to maintain law and order.
Following the crime review, SSP Jammu conducted a Darbar with the jawans, addressing their grievances and assuring prompt redressal.
He urged all personnel to perform their duties with utmost integrity and commitment, ensuring the delivery of the highest standard of public service.
