SSP Jammu reviews security grid along border

JAMMU, Aug 29: Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Jammu, Joginder Singh today visited border belt of RS Pura-Arnia including Border Police Posts (BPPs) and reviewed the operational preparedness along border grid with particular focus on logistics & synergy among police and security forces deployed in this belt.
Police have recently deployed more newly trained jawans in various border villages across the Jammu region to bolster the anti-infiltration and anti-terrorism grid. Besides, VDG committees have been strengthened to further augment the border grind. The Border Police Posts serve as the third line of defence, complimenting the primary and secondary roles of BSF and Army, respectively.
The visit was aimed at gaining firsthand knowledge of the current facilities and logistics, with a view to upgrading them comprehensively to strengthen the border grid of the area. During the visit to Border Police Posts in Badyal Brahamana, Agra Chak, Baspur, Chakrohi, Deewangarh, Sai, Treva, Allah and also Police Station Arnia and Bishnah, SSP Jammu emphasized the need to upgrade infrastructure and assessed their current capabilities.
SSP Jammu also held interaction with the officers of BSF during visit to BOPs and stressed for synergy between police and security forces deployed in the border belt. He expressed satisfaction with the operational readiness of the BPPs and urged the officers/officials to continue working with dedication and commitment to their duties. He also assured that the BPPs would be strengthened further.
