JAMMU, Jan 18: SSP Sopore, Javaid Iqbal Mir was pinned the coveted Chief of Army Staff (COAS) Commendation Card by Maj Gen Ashok Singh, GOC, CIF (K) in presence of Sulemaan Choudhary, DIG North Kashmir and Brig Vivek Narang, Cdr 5 Sect RR at Ganju House.
GOC, K Force complimented Javaid Iqbal on behalf of GOC-in-C NC and GOC, Chinar Corps for his utmost dedication and commitment towards the cause of combating terrorism.
Javaid Iqbal Mir, SSP Sopore was awarded COAS Commendation Card on the occasion of 72nd Army Day for his contribution in ensuing seamless synergy between Army and J&K Police which has led to elimination of numerous terrorists and has ensured peace and prosperity in Sopore.
A handout stated that Mir is an officer of impeccable repute and professionalism who has led Police Department in Sopore from the front.
He has played a pivotal role in maintaining law and order situation with the Army after the abrogation of Article 370 in the volatile and politically sensitive town of Sopore and has successfully overseen the incident free conduct of Parliamentary, Panchayat and BDC elections in Sopore during his tenure.
