SSP Kargil reviews election arrangements

JAMMU, Apr 6: SSP Kargil Dr Vinod Kumar today reviewed arrangements for forthcoming Parliamentary elections during two separate meetings held at Police Post Wakha and Kargil Bazaar.
The meetings were attended by senior police officers, Sarpanchs, Panchs, Nambardars and citizens.
Dr Kumar called for making all arrangements to ensure smooth conduct of Parliamentary elections in Kargil district of Ladakh division. He sought cooperation of the people and other stakeholders in holding peaceful elections in the district.
Ladakh Parliamentary constituency will go to polls in fifth phase on May 6. Nominations will open on April 10.
The SSP Kargil listened to problems raised by the people in both the meetings at Wakha and Kargil Bazaar and assured to take them up with the concerned authorities and get them addressed.
In his address, Dr Vinod Kumar said the District Police Kargil is an institution, which was committed to ensure everyone’s safety and sought cooperation of all section of society in maintaining peace and order.
DySP Headquarters Kargil, Syeed Mujahideen-ul-Haq, Incharge Wakha Police Post Sub Inspector Regzin Gurmeet and Incharge Kargil Bazaar Police Post Sub Inspector Meraj Khalid also attended the meetings.
