KATHUA, Oct 26: SSP Kathua Shobhit Saksena convened a crime review meeting at Conference Hall, DPL Kathua.
The meeting was attended by Additional SP Kathua, SP Operations Upper Kathua, CPO DPO Kathua, Senior PO DPO Kathua, SDPO Border/Billawar/Basohli, Deputy SP Operations Bani, Deputy SP DAR Kathua, Deputy SP PC Kathua, Pairvi Officer Kathua, Reader to SSP Kathua, and SHOs/IC PP’s of all Police Stations of district Kathua.
SSP Kathua briefed the participants about the law and order, crime and security scenario along with other initiatives carried out by the Kathua Police in the district. He also highlighted measures adopted to strengthen security grid and improve policing.
During the meeting, SSP Kathua also reviewed the status of Police Station wise pending under investigation cases related to UAPA, NDPS Act, Excise, bovine smuggling and other heinous crimes. While elaborating it was mentioned that maintenance of law and order, prevention of crime, speedy investigation and disposal of cases, quality investigation, adequate attention to public grievance on day-to-day basis and strengthening of Police Public relations are of utmost importance.
Addressing the officers, chairing officer said that the Investigation officers must take all the measures to improve investigation and disposal of cases on merits. He impressed upon the officers that the quality of investigation and disposal of these cases needs improvement and exerted upon them to adopt the latest techniques and standard operating practices which would bring better results in investigation process.
Beside this, stress was also laid on beat patrolling and maintenance of Beat Book record. SHOs were directed to ensure regular surveillance over OGWs/bad characters in their areas. He stressed upon the supervisory officers to contribute more by conducting supervisory meeting and by ensuring close supervision of important cases to get better results for the remaining period of the year. He advised them to improve the quality of investigation and prosecution to increase the convictions.
