SSP Kathua recommends dismissal of cop involved in murder of Rajesh Dogra

JAMMU, May 25: The Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Kathua has recommended the dismissal of a police cop involved in the murder of Rajesh Dogra alias Mohan Cheer in Mohali area of Punjab, along with several other crimes.
In a letter addressed to SSP Kishtwar, the SSP Kathua has claimed that Constable Sham Lal from Kirmoo area of Ramnagar District, last posted in District Kishtwar, was involved in four criminal cases registered at Police Stations Samba, Kathua, and Mohali area of Punjab for his involvement in heinous nature of crimes including attempt to murder, murder, and Arms Act.
The police constable, presently lodged in District Jail Roopnagar (Ropar) in Chandigarh, Punjab, for his involvement in the murder of one Rajesh Dogra alias Mohan Cheer from Jammu in Mohali area of Punjab, besides his involvement in the criminal cases, had also remained unauthorizedly absent from his duties for several months together, said the SSP Kathua in his letter addressed to SSP Kishtwar.
According to him, despite the investigating/enquiry officers sending several communications to the delinquent cop for submitting his reply on charge sheets presented against him in different cases, has not replied to any of the communications as on date.
As such, the SSP Kathua has recommended that the delinquent cop be dismissed from Government service as his repeated acts have tarnished the reputation of the J&K Police besides bringing moral disgrace to the force.
“On consideration of the material on record, it has been found that the provisions of Rule 337 read with rule 359(11)(2)(b) of J&K Police Manual Volume 2 which is in consonance with Articles 113 and 128 of J&K CSR dismissal is appropriate action commensurate with the conduct of the delinquent police official,” said the SSP Kathua in his communication to his counterpart in Kishtwar.
As such, citing the relevant documents of the instant enquiry against the delinquent cop, the SSP Kathua has recommended that the cop be dismissed from Government service.
