JAMMU, Dec 1: To aware the people about the dowry system, which is a serious social evil in the Indian society and has destroyed the lives of countless girls till date, the poster of movie ‘Kupratha’ was released here today.
The poster was released by SSP Mohan Lal Bhagat (SO to ADGP Railways Jammu and Kashmir).
With the aim of creating awareness against social evils like dowry system and casteism, Jammu’s local actress and model Khwaish Gupta’s short film “Kupratha” is going to be released on 6th December.
On this occasion, SSP Mohan Lal Bhagat congratulated the entire team of the film for making such a film to create awareness against dowry system and other social evils.
He said that to prevent this, laws are being made by the Government from time to time as per the need. Despite this, there is a need to spread more awareness about it in the society because without the cooperation of the society, it is not possible to stop this evil practice.
He said that today most of the cases of harassment of women in the society are happening due to dowry system and also appealed to everyone to watch this film and learn from it.
“This is a very good initiative by the local artists of Jammu and there is a need that films should be made on such subjects from time to time,” he added.
This film has been produced by Shivdeep Gupta and Priya Gupta while it has been directed by Aditya Bhanu.
The film is written by Vasid Khan and starred many actors from Jammu and Kashmir including Khwaish Gupta, Rahul Attri, Munish Manni.
